It’s hard to believe we are already into 2022 and King Cake season! If you are still battling with your insurance company, please remember that we can help.

The Spigener Law Firm has partnered with The AKD Law Firm to help homeowners dispute Hurricane Ida claims with their insurance companies. They will also be assisting business owners with business interruption claims as a result of Hurricane Ida.

On the homeowner’s side, an independent appraiser will go to the home, review the initial claim, and create a report meant for the insurance company to review. If the insurance company has already issued their initial report, the homeowner will pay no attorney fees on this amount. Only when the claim has been disputed and we are successful in increasing the amount of the claim or if the attorney initiates the

claim on the homeowner’s behalf, will attorney fees and additional costs be paid to the participating firms. There are no upfront costs or fees for this service. In the event of an unsuccessful claim, the homeowner will owe nothing.

We have all heard stories after various weather events and hurricanes where the claims dispute process takes months or even years; the hope is that this will not be the case regarding Hurricane Ida. In cooperation with multiple firms and appraisers, all resources will be working together on behalf of homeowners affected by Ida who have not been able to get a fair resolution to their claims.

On the business interruption side, likewise, the business owner will pay no upfront costs or fees, as the attorneys will work on a contingency fee basis. In the event of an unsuccessful claim, the business owner will owe nothing. The same level of expertise and pooling of legal resources will be used in these cases to collect the fair amount owed for business interruption.

Insurance companies are for profit businesses. When they encounter huge losses, they still want to remain profitable. One of the ways they do that is by underpaying claims or refusing them all together.

Our goal is to stop this unfair practice and help our neighbors and colleagues get what they deserve and are rightly owed.

If you or someone you know has had a claim denied or grossly underpaid, or if they simply do not know where to start, we want to help. Contact our office and let’s talk.

We’d love to hear from you.

Please call or send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
